Why Instruction Can be a Risky Business.
Instruction carries risks. These risks take various forms; such as opportunity risks (is there something better we could do with the time?). This talk discusses risks in three areas: giving too much support; giving too little support; or in misdirecting our support. Being aware of the risks in how we instruct has implications: one is that we can be even more expert.
