Talking to Learn 2.0
Fifty years ago, James Britton wrote “Talking to learn”—one of the first publications that drew attention to the role of talk in learning. In this presentation, we re-examine Britton’s vision. We will take stock of the latest theory and empirical evidence of the power of talk as a tool for reasoning, as a way of knowing, and as a way of being in the world, and what this means for teachers of literacy.
